FounderTrac Announces its 2018 Cohort!


Thursday evening FounderTrac announced the finalists for the first cohort of 2018 at the Maryland Technology Council's Black and White event! Over 50 applications were submitted from Maryland based high growth startups at the end of November. Ten companies were accepted. The selection committee reviewed the applicants using a list of requirements and guidelines to determine the best and most qualified companies for the first 2018 FounderTrac cohort. This decision was very tough given the caliber of companies that applied. In this regard, Ryan Sears, Founder of LAUNCH! Annapolis said "We were humbled by the amount and quality of applications. It was highly competitive and we are very excited to connect with, mentor, and invest in this exciting cohort of startups."

The FounderTrac Team is excited to announce the following candidates that have been accepted into the first 2018 FounderTrac Cohort:

David Collier of Everywhere Communications, Matt Daue of IÂștia Corporation, Greg DiNardo of Arbit, Inc., Leif Frey of FREY, Aimee Martin of MileMarker, Gabriel Pendleton of AudioStaq, Inc, Keith Rogers of GasNinjas, Anne Stuckey of HoneIn, Mustafa Wahid of TransitioningU, and Joshua Wies of Agewell Biometrics.

FounderTrac's truly holistic approach to fostering businesses from early-stage to venture capital ready brings together all the resources needed to create a truly innovative accelerator. The success of the community relies upon combining many resources into one cohesive community. The components of the community are:

  • Community outreach through LAUNCH! Annapolis and its many partners
  • The proven and innovative FounderTrac curriculum delivered by successful entrepreneurs and executives
  • Mentoring and Fractional C-Level support through Maryland Technology Council and MCVC Partners
  • Seed funding through a dedicated Venture Capital fund
  • The development of coworking space through Annapolis Ventures

The first FounderTrac cohort of 2018 will kick off January 3, 2018. FounderTrac is an Annapolis based startup accelerator with a 12-week curriculum to help Entrepreneurs take their companies to the next lvel. Led by successful entrepreneurs and executives the founders are matched with an executive Sherpa and are given the opportunity to gain funding from a dedicated venture capital fund. Support for participants does not end with graduation. Graduates may enlist in the MIT (News - Alert) licensed Maryland Technology Council mentorship program and are encourage to continue their engagement in the FounderTrac/LAUNCH! Annapolis community.



FounderTrac's first program, launched in January of 2017, was a resounding success with several of the graduates gaining funding and fostered an ongoing collaboration among the participants and the growing startup community.

On October 25, 2017 at the TEDCO Entrepreneur's Expo, George Davis, CEO of TEDCO announced the winners of the 2017 Incubator Challenge. FounderTrac was awarded a grant of $125,000 to support and expand the reach of the FounderTrac Program. The TEDCO grant and TEDCO involvement will provide valuable seed funding and support to allow FounderTrac to increase the frequency and expand the reach of the program.
