Pavemint Wants To Pay Your Parking Tickets This Holiday Season

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Living in Los Angeles, most of us have dealt with the frustration of parking and the tickets that go along with it. This holiday season, however, peer-to-peer parking app, Pavemint, is dedicated to turning that frustration into joy. In celebration of the global #GivingTuesday movement, Pavemint has taken to the streets of LA, and social media, to pay people's parking tickets.

Armed with a satchel of blue gift envelopes, employees of the company recently traveled to the worst places to park in LA and presented real parking citation recipients with "Pavemint Golden Tickets" promising to pay for parking infractions and offering $100 in free parking via Pavemint's inventory of over 4,000 private parking spaces across Los Angeles—no strings attached. The company documented their gifting escapade in the included video.

This announcement marks the start of an entire "Month of Giving" initiative at Pavemint; starting Frida, December 1st and going through Friday, December 29th, Pavemint will pay for five City of Los Angeles parking tickets every week, up to $250 in value. To enter, simply post your story (or nominate a friend) via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, tag @Pavemint, and be sure to include the hashtag #PavemintGoldenTicket.

In a statement about the initiative Pavemint's CEO, Randall Jamail, had this to say:

"Nationwide and worldwide, our communities have two days devoted to 'getting deals'–Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday marks the opening day of the giving season, a reminder of what makes this time of year special. We at Pavemint are committed to championing this concept throughout the season in our local communities and helping Angelenos change the way they think about parking along the way."

By giving away parking coupons with the Golden Ticket Giveaway, Pavemint will also help residents who have listed their parking spaces on the platform earn extra income this holiday season.
