CDK Global Commits to PCG Google Analytics Specification for Automotive Dealers

CDK Global (Nasdaq: CDK), a leading integrated information technology and digital marketing solutions provider, today announced that CDK websites will support the specification for Google (News - Alert) Analytics (GA) that PCG Companies, an automotive data analytics and consultancy firm, published for automotive dealers in 2016. By supporting this open standard for GA events and goals, CDK dealers and dealer groups can independently review their website and marketing performance data.

The PCG specification empowers dealer groups to have a standardized set of measurement metrics across diverse website platforms. CDK joins a growing list of companies that have publicly endorsed and implemented the PCG specification in an effort to create greater transparency and to help dealers increase their Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) from their marketing partners. Implementation of the PCG specification will be based on the CDK website data layer - a W3C (News - Alert) specification for the uniform presentation of website data, which CDK supports with our responsive website platform.

"We are excited to offer our dealers a standardized implementation of Google Analytics," said Max Steckler, product officer, consumer-facing products, CDK Global. "The demand for GA support from customers continues to grow, so it is the right time to meet that need and support this open standard. By leveraging the PCG specifications, our enterprise clients will be able to more easily compare the performance of our latest website technology and marketing solutions in their multi-vendor eco-system."

PCG created the open standard for Google Analytics in an effort to unify the vendor community that serves automotive retailers. Until now, dealers did not have the data to fully leverage the independent reporting that Google Analytics provides to inspect marketing and merchandising investments. This is the second specification that PCG has published that has gained widespread support from the automotive vendor community.

"By supporting a standardized implementation of Google Analytics, CDK demonstrates its willingness to increase data transparency with its clients. The PCG specification will allow dealers to more consistently document website conversions and engagement to improve marketing outcomes," stated Brian Pasch, Founder of PCG Companies. "The support of the specification will also allow CDK clients to immediately leverage the independent data insights and traffic quality metrics in VistaDash, our popular Business Intelligence (BI) cloud software."

Interested dealers should contact CDK to upgrade their current Google Analytics implementation to comply with the PCG specifications, which will be available by the end of November.
