physIQ Wins Chicago Innovation Award for VitaLink Healthcare Solution

physIQ, Inc., a leader in developing solutions that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to empower digital health for ambulatory patient monitoring and clinical trial support, has been named one of the winners of the 16th annual Chicago Innovation Awards.

The winners were announced at an event held at Chicago's Harris Theater on Monday, October 30, with nearly 1500 business and civic leaders, and supporters of innovation in attendance. The Chicago Innovation Awards, celebrating its 16th year, is the Chicago region's foremost recognition of the most innovative new products or services brought to market or to public service each year.

Gary Conkright, CEO of physIQ, shared: "Earning this award is another significant development in what has been an inflection point year for physIQ. Over the years, we have seen the great companies recognized by the Chicago Innovation Awards and have aspired us to join their ranks. Winning this year is a testament to the industry-leading technology developed by our TEAM and we're thrilled to be recognized for solving some of the most pressing issues in healthcare."

The physIQ solution collects continuous physiological patient data from wearable and implantable sensors and applies proprietary AI technology to transform this data into personalized patient insight. Healthcare providers, payers, pharmaceutical and medica device companies are leveraging the FDA-cleared personalized analytics to proactively manage at-risk ambulatory patients. Pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers are also integrating VitaLink into their clinical trials in order to capitalize on new, "real world" data sets to validate the safety and efficacy of their products.

After recently completing a Series B financing, physIQ has been focused on commercializing its first-of-its-kind platform with pharmaceutical and medical devices companies seeking to integrate digital medicine into their clinical research. The award recognizes the market traction physIQ has generated in this market.

"Chicago's innovators continue to demonstrate the breadth of innovation found in the Chicago region, cutting across all industries, sectors and sizes," said Tom Kuczmarski, co-founder with Chicago journalist Dan Miller of the awards. "2017 winners are pioneers in healthcare, food services, data analytics, architecture, chemical products, transportation, government, household appliances, digital technology, childcare, non-profit, economic development, and beauty care."

The winning organizations receive a variety of honors including the opportunity to ring the NASDAQ Bell in New York City, and meetings with the Mayor, Governor and Cook County President.

"There were over 530 organizations nominated for this year's awards," said Luke Tanen, Executive Director of the Chicago Innovation Awards. "As a group, these nominees generated record totals in economic output, with nearly $3.4 billion in new revenues achieved from their new products and services, along with the creation of over 15,000 new jobs. The winners represent the best from this very impressive group."
