The festival workshops, panels, and demos will showcase public good technologies that help to mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities, and tackle climate change. There will also be discussions on participatory methodologies and how to measure impact and systemic change, all of which are aligned with the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development.

"From San Francisco in the U.S. to MedellĂn in Colombia and everywhere in between, there has never been a greater need for technologies designed to increase the public good and support civil society," said Marnie Webb, CEO of Caravan Studios. "We are proud to bring this festival to our nation's capital to expand the conversations about community egagement, impact, and scale to others who also use technology to change the world."

The festival will focus on three tracks: Participatory Methodologies, Active Projects and Demos, and Impact and Scale. Speakers include Nicholas Skytland of NASA, Sean Marcia of Ruby for Good, and Meghan Nesbit, director of nonprofit market development at Twilio.

"Caravan Studios has been a pioneer in convening entrepreneurs, developers, public officials, and thought leaders in the social impact space," Nesbit says. "We're excited to participate in the first Public Good App House Festival and connect with the diverse 'tech for good' space to discuss how we can scale impact through technology."

Also speaking is Catalina Escobar, founder of MAKAIA, a Colombian nonprofit that strengthens organizations' capacities for social development through technology and advocacy.

"The opportunity to share our Air Quality Data Project with so many others at the Public Good App House Festival is tremendous," Escobar says. "We are also looking forward to learning about other projects happening across the Americas and the ways we are all working to improve our cities."

Festival sponsors of the Public Good App House Festival include Twilio (News - Alert), Equinix Impact, and Hustle. The event itself will be held across the Petworth, Mt. Pleasant, and Shaw public libraries in Washington, D.C.

Volunteer positions are still available for this unique engagement. Interested parties can contact festival organizers at [email protected].
