Chemist Criticized for Anti-Chemotherapy Video on YouTube

SANTA FE, N.M., Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Shane Ellison, a former pharmaceutical chemist and author of Over-The-Counter Natural Cures Expanded (Sourcebooks, 2014) is an outspoken critic of chemotherapy.  His new short film (https://youtu.be/PusJuOElGKg) highlights the perilous risks of conventional cancer treatment, encouraging viewers to "ditch the meds."

Ellison insists that "Chemotherapy is toxic to all cells of the body, not just cancer. It's well documented that leukemia and many other forms of cancer show up years or even decades after treatments.  This is best reflected in the growing cancer profits.  In 2011 cancer drug spending was $107 billion.  It's predicted to increase to $150 billion by 2020. Pushing chemo has everything to do with increasing wealth not health."

His film features a cancer survivor named Gordon who refused chemo and shows his progress over five years.  Gordon tells viewers, "We don't accept the status quo and just lay down and die."

Critics are calling Ellison's video "a shameless plug for his own products."  Doctors are chiming in as well, asserting, "Ellison doesn't have the clinical experience required in oncology to make such statements."

Shane "The People's Chemist" Ellison holds a master's degree in organic chemistry and is an award-winning chemist.  He's the author of Over-The-Counter Natural Cures Expanded (SourceBooks, 2014). He's been quoted by USA Today, Shape, Woman's World, US News and World Report, as well as Women's Health and appeared on Fox and NBC as a medicine and health expert.
