Advanced Practices Council Hosts Two Successful Events for CIOs; Announces Robotics and Augmented Reality Event for World's Foremost IT Leaders

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Oct. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Practices Council (APC), the exclusive CIO program of SIM, a global IT association with over 5,000 members, has released highlights of its recent meeting in Philadelphia. Artificial intelligence, micro-services, design thinking, digital investment, and recruiting for the next generation of IT were on the agenda. A successful follow-on event was held in New York, which brought together some of the city's most prominent IT leaders across financial, insurance and publishing sectors – to discuss their current and future uses of predictive analytics across their global organizations.

"It was an incredible event," stated Perry Rotella, now a leader with Gartner and previously CIO at Verisk Analytics. "It was great to meet IT leaders with a real passion for going beyond simply leveraging data to predicting customer actions."

The next APC meeting will be January 17-18 in Dallas. Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers and other senior IT leaders from around the world are encouraged to participate. Topics will include robotic processes as well as cognitive automation; augmented reality; the transformation from projects, to products, to platforms; and digital transformation. Speakers will include professors and researchers from universities and institution as well as thought leaders from companies across sectors.

"There is no other IT executive program like the Advanced Practices Council," said Madeline Weiss, the program's director. "We are the best at what we do. We limit membership to 40 CIOs and IT executives each year, and we typically have a waiting list."

"It's lonely at the top," added Joe Bruhin, a member of the APC and former CIO at Constellation Brands. "When you walk into the APC meeting room, you are with friends who know you and share similar concerns and challenges. I owe a lot of my success – and the success of companies that I have been a part of – to being a member. There's nothing like it. We grow together."

"Right now we have a few membership openings for 2018. We invite potential members to come as guests to try before they buy. We will give priority to senior IT leaders from the Dallas area," added Weiss.
