Overlake Named Among Top 5% of Hospitals in the Nation for Joint Replacement and Treatment of Stroke in 2018 by Healthgrades


Overlake Medical Center announced today it is the only hospital in Washington to be named among the Top 5% in the Nation for Joint Replacement and for Treatment of Stroke in 2018 by Healthgrades. Overlake is also the only hospital in Washington to achieve Excellence Awards and recognition among the Top 10% in the nation in Neurosciences, Pulmonary Care, Stroke Care, Bariatric and Joint Replacement. In fact, Overlake is Washington's only hospital to achieve the Bariatric Excellence Award from Healthgrades for 2018.

Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 34 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions. It is the leading online resource helping consumers make informed decisions to find the right doctor and the right hospital for the right care.

- Treatment of Gastrointestinal Bleed for 4 Years in a Row (2015-2018)

- Peripheral Vascular Bypass in 2018

- Bariatric Surgery for 4 Years in a Row (2015-2018)

The clinical outcomes methodology used by Healthgrades compares actual versus predicted performance for specific patient outcomes in nearly 4,500 short-term acute care hospitals in the country. Approximately 45 million Medicare inpatient records were evaluated.
