FusionLayer: Launching the Gold Standard for Network Burst

FusionLayer has today unveiled a new FusionLayer Infinity 2.5 series, the first Software-Defined IP Address Management solution targeted at enterprises and Managed Services Providers (MSP) active in IT transformation and multi-cloud initiatives. The latest addition to the FusionLayer product family enhances the company's Hybrid IT solution portfolio by introducing plug-and-play support for Microsoft (News - Alert) Azure, the fastest growing public cloud solution for application delivery.

According to RightScale's 2017 State of the Cloud Report, 85% of enterprises incorporate a multi-cloud strategy as part of their IT transformation efforts. While many small and mid-sized companies are pursuing an IT strategy that is purely based on public cloud services, most enterprises continue to manage their risk through hybrid cloud strategies that leverage a mixture of private on-premise data centers and public cloud services such as Amazon Web-Services and Microsoft Azure.

"As larger companies gear up their IT transformation efforts, we are beginning to see cloud-native business architectures that span across on-premise data centers and multiple public cloud services" said Teemu Sorvisto, the Chief Executive of FusionLayer. "A common problem in these hyrid environments is that there is no single source of truth for the enterprise network data with related audit trails. This introduces compliance issues and functions as a bottleneck for network burst, thereby hurting the financial returns of the IT transformation investments."

While traditional on-premise enterprise networks have been managed with DNS, DHCP and IPAM (DDI) appliance solutions from companies like Infoblox (News - Alert), the teams responsible for them are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the pace of change. These difficulties are magnified by the new breed of application development specialists - the DevOps - who are used to interacting with REST-based Application Programming Interfaces (API). FusionLayer Infinity helps organizations by unifying the old and the new world into a single solution.

"Managing enterprise network assignments across on-premise data centers and public cloud services is not a trivial work when carried out at scale" continued Teemu Sorvisto. "The latest FusionLayer Infinity allows network teams to activate and deactivate networks in seconds across on-premise infrastructure and in multiple public clouds. The latest FusionLayer Infinity ships with a developer-friendly REST API for all network data that the DevOps are thrilled to use."
