Fall CycloFest Returns to Charlotte, NC

Fall CycloFest, one of the leading cycling festivals on the East Coast produced by Interbike, today announced its return to the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) in Charlotte, NC, on October 20-22, 2017. The free event will feature numerous cycling related activities for everyone from hard-core racers, to those looking to get into cycling, to kids activities and more.

The main highlight of the event is the presence of many of the industry's top brands with their latest bicycles available for the public to test on the trails and roads at the venue. An all-star list of exhibiting bike brands includes Marin Bikes, Intense Cycles, Niner, Santa Cruz, Pivot, Ibis, Rocky Mountain, Norco and more. The industry's leading component manufacturers, Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo, will also be on-site to interact with the public, answer questions, and offer demos.

"We're really looking forward to bringing Fall CycloFest back to Charlotte and the U.S. National Whitewater Center," said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. "No matter what your age is, bikes put smiles on faces."

With electric bicycles, or "e-bikes," beginning to gain momentum in North America, the event is the perfect destination for those curious about their capabilities, and to test a variety of models from numerous brands. Cannondale, Specialized, Raleigh Electric, iZip, Haibike and more will have e-bikes available for testing over the weekend. New for 2017 is the addition of a dedicated e-bike trail designed to test the capabilities of today's e-mountain bikes (e-MTBs).

Other event activities include:

  • The SRAM Women's Program: Nine-time U.S. National Champion & BMX Hall of Famer Leigh Donovan and other great instructors will teach free on-bike skills clinics and presentation-style tech clinics during the event.
  • Racing & Rides: Numerous races and rides will take place, including an Enduro Challenge, the NCX CycloCross Showdown, the Sunday Social group road ride and more.
  • Kids Bike Rodeo: Volunteers from the Charlotte-based Bikin' Dads Adventures will operate a kids bike course, offer safety tips and more.
  • Movie Screening: A free screening of Red Bull Media House's "Blood Road" will be shown on Friday, October 20th, featuring Mountain bike champion Rebecca Rusch's on-bike search for the spot in Vietnam where her father crashed and died during the war.
  • Live Music: Five-piece alternative rock band, Grizfolk, will headline a free concert on Saturday, October 21st, starting at 3 p.m.
