Lever Releases Diversity & Inclusion Handbook

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 11, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lever, the recruiting software for more than 1,400 leading companies around the world, today releases The Diversity & Inclusion Handbook, a new guide for companies looking to advance diversity and inclusion initiatives within their organizations.

The ten-chapter Handbook covers topics such as setting diversity goals that resonate with employees, embedding diversity goals into recruiting and onboarding, and committing to fair compensation. The Handbook also includes first-hand accounts of diversity initiatives within leading companies including Affirm, Lyft and Shopify.

The Handbook comes on the heels of Lever being recognized as San Francisco’s Best Tech Workplace for Diversity at the 2017 Timmy Awards, which honor the top workplaces for technology professionals around the country. Presented by Tech in Motion, the Best Tech Workplace for Diversity category celebrates companies that implement diverse hiring practices, promote collaboration and diverse thinking, and provide tools and resources to explore and celebrate differences.

“Companies are committed to diversity and inclusion now more than ever, yet many don’t know where to begin,” said Sarah Nahm, CEO, Lever. “With our Diversity & Inclusion Handbook we are hoping to give people a tangible and tactical place to start. More importantly, we encourage companies everywhere to continue building cultures that embrace and celebrate differences - whether in gender, race, background or point of view.”

Lever’s commitment to diversity and inclusion began early in the company’s history, when the first ten employees formed a D&I taskforce. Today, with roughly 125 employees, Lever has a 50:50 gender balance, with 53 percent of its managers and 40 percent of its board members are female, and 40 percent of its workforce is non-white.
