Streamlio and Industry Leaders Launch OpenMessagingStreamlio today announced that it has joined with industry leaders Alibaba, Di Di, and Yahoo! to launch OpenMessaging, a standards initiative for messaging software, within the Linux Foundation (News - Alert). As a founding contributor, Streamlio will help drive the creation and adoption of vendor-neutral, open standards and tools for distributed messaging and ensure that these standards are fully supported within the Streamlio real-time solution, empowering the robust ecosystem of developers and users developing modern data applications. Messaging has become a critical component of modern data-driven architectures, connecting data sources, data processing engines, and applications. However, the lack of a vendor-neutral industry standard for messaging creates complexities and incompatibilities that hamstring companies with unproductive costs, confusion, and vendor lock-in. Streamlio and the other founding contributors of OpenMessaging--representing technology providers, users, and standards organizations--have come together to address these obstacles with a commitment to delivering standards-based interoperability for messaging solutions. OpenMessaging will enable organizations to evaluate, deploy, and integrate the technologies that they need to build their data infrastructure across on-premise and cloud deployments, streaming and batch processing.
