AmeriHealth Caritas Awarded Contract to Serve Delaware Medicaid and LTSS EnrolleesAmeriHealth Caritas announced today that it has been notified by Delaware's Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA) of its intent to contract with AmeriHealth Caritas to provide managed Medicaid and long-term services and supports (LTSS) statewide under the Diamond State Health Plan (DSHP) and Diamond State Health Plan-Plus (DSHP-Plus) programs. The contract will begin January 1, 2018. "We are excited about this opportunity to expand our mission to Delaware," said AmeriHealth Caritas Chairman and CEO Paul A. Tufano. DSHP is Delaware's Medicaid managed care program and DSHP-Plus is the managed LTSS program for Delawareans who are elderly, disabled or qualify for both Medicaid and Medicare (dual eligibles). AmeriHealth Caritas is one of two managed care organizations selected to participate in these programs, which combined serve more than 200,000 lives.
