Paul Henderson Releases the Greatest Jersey Ever Children's Book to Pass on Canada's History to the Next Generation of Canadian Youth

Paul Henderson and Ficel Sports & Entertainment celebrates the 45^th Anniversary of the "Goal of the Century", voted Canada's #1 sports moment over the last 150 years. To commemorate this historic milestone along with Canada's 150th birthday, "The Greatest Jersey Ever" children's book was launched at the Hockey Hall of Fame in front of two classrooms of children. The book is dedicated to passing on the legacy of the historic Summit Series to the next generation of Canadian youth.

Paul and his wife Eleanor read the book to the children during the press conference. For many, this was the first time learning of Henderson's heroics in game 6, 7 and 8 of the series.

The story of The Greatest Jersey Ever follows a brother and sister as they re-live the moments of the '72 Summit Series as told by their grandparents. It covers the highs and lows of the series, from falling short of Canada's expectations and disappointing a country, to one of the greatest comebacks in sports history. "Our goal was to bring together Canadians of all generations, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren," Henderson commented "we want this to be something that families can share with each other".

"We wanted to keep this book 100% Canadian made," Henderson said "from author Lillian Quon to illustrator Walter Burden and printer, Marquis. The series brought an entire country together. It was Canada playing, not Team Canada. It was us against them and every Canadian somehow seemed to have a sense of ownership of that team."

"There will never be a bigger goal in any series, in any sport, than Paul's goal in the 8th game. It really brought Canadians closer together," Don Cherry remarked.
