The MAXIMUS Foundation Pledges $100,000 to Support Hurricane Irma Disaster Recovery Efforts


The MAXIMUS Foundation announced today that it has pledged $100,000 for disaster recovery efforts for Hurricane Irma. The funds will be split with $50,000 in support of the American Red Cross and $50,000 in support of Volunteer Florida's Disaster Fund.

Volunteer Florida Chief Executive Officer Vivian Myrtetus said, "Volunteer Florida thanks the MAXIMUS Foundation for its donation to the Florida Disaster Fund. Their generosity and support will help us support our disaster relief organizations and the Florida families, businesses and communities they serve."

As the philanthropic arm of MAXIMUS, the MAXIMUS Foundation extends the mission of the Company by identifying and awarding grants to partner with specialized expertise to deliver results within the same populations and communities served by the public programs the Company operates.

MAXIMUS provides operational support for critical public health insurance programs in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, helping individuals and families access coverage through Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program. The Company has worked closely with its state government clients to help ensure that program members were supported during and following the storm.

Earlier this month, MAXIMUS and the MAXIMUS Foundation announced another $100,000 pledge, plus $11,000 more in employee donations, to the American Red Cross to support Storm Harvey disaster relief efforts in Texas.
