Gadget Flow Launches Augmented Reality for Commercial Products

NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Gadget Flow, the top new-products platform has launched Gadget Flow AR, the augmented-reality feature that lets users see new products in 3D prior to purchase. In combination with Apple's ARKit and Gadget Flow's database of over 12,000 gadgets, tools, and crowdfunded projects, iOS app users will have the option to see products in augmented reality (AR). Gadget Flow AR features "SLAM" technology that lets users move a product around in 3D to see dimensions, handling, features, zoom and interact with it before purchase.

Gadget Flow, founded in the depths of Greece's recession, now features over 12,000 products from Indiegogo, Etsy, Kickstarter, Amazon and hundreds of other marketplaces and e-commerce websites. Headquartered in New York, it is the leading crowdfunding launch platform with over 6,000 clients, reaching 25 million people per month. Known for its experimentation with new marketing technologies, Gadget Flow is the first platform to introduce AR content for commercial products with the help of Apple's ARKit. "Consistent with Gadget Flow's first-mover approach to adopting new technologies to enhance our clients' sales, we're the first major online marketplace to provide all of our products in dynamic 3D," says Evan Varsamis, co-founder and CEO of Gadget Flow.

Gadget Flow clients were optimistic about its tie-up with ARKt. "This application is exactly why AR will become a huge part of our lives; The Gadget Flow feature will allow people to directly see and interact with the products on the platform, ultimately leading to more informed buying decisions and happiness all around," says Eddie Lee, President of Podo Labs.

According to Saso Kasteli, CEO of Gadget Flow client Ironate, "The Gadget Flow's new AR feature is really what the future holds for online shopping. Great for both sellers and consumers, we at Ironate are preparing the files to transfer our pizza-making gadget to the AR world. You won't quite make a pizza in three minutes with the new iOS app, but you will get the next best thing: In augmented reality, seeing how the product looks in a realistic setting."

The Gadget Flow's AR release is available here. Gadget Flow branded 3D scanning centers that allow clients to scan non-tech products in order to display them in AR will be coming later this year.
