Green Development, LLC Appoints NEW CEO

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I., Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Development, LLC (formerly d/b/a Wind Energy Development), a leader in renewable-energy solutions, is pleased to announce that Al Bucknam has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is a component of Green Development's evolution from a wind-energy company to a comprehensive renewable energy-solutions company committed to developing, building, owning and operating renewable energy solutions, including wind, solar, biomass, and energy storage. Bucknam replaces former CEO, Mark DePasquale, who remains with Green Development as founder and chairman.

"I am so pleased to welcome Al to our team," said Mark DePasquale. "Al's extensive experience in new-energy solutions will help transition the company from a focus on wind energy to the implementation of large-scale, comprehensive energy solutions in wind, solar, biomass and energy storage."

Green Development has played a leading role in diversifying and reducing the cost of Rhode Island's energy portfolio through the installation of 18 MW of new capacity (enough power to run more than 2,600 homes) in the last two years, providing energy savings to public entities and private investors, and offering farmers, landowners, municipalities, town housing authorities, schools and non-profits with wind and solar solutions. The Company now has over 100 MW of renewable energy projects in development with 12 MW estimated to be on-line by the end o 2017, and continues to innovate within the new-energy economy on delivering lower costs, enhanced energy security and cleaner air for the future.

Bucknam brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role. Prior to joining Green Development, he was president and CEO at California-based REC Solar. There, he was instrumental in revamping the company's vision and strategy, resulting in tripled revenue and a $225 million fund for project capital from a national utility.

Bucknam also served as chief executive officer of SunDurance Energy in New Jersey, where he grew the company to become one of the top commercial solar installers in the nation, and was listed at number 38 on the Inc. 500, Inc. magazine's list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in America.

"We see a clear opportunity to bring great value and benefit to the public and private sectors through innovative energy solutions," continued DePasquale. "Al's experience in leading-edge environmental markets like California and New Jersey will further bolster our plan for transformative energy solutions in Rhode Island.  We are on track to meet Governor Raimondo's goal of 1000 megawatts of renewables by 2020."

"It's amazing what the Green Development team has accomplished in just a short amount of time," said Al Bucknam, incoming CEO. "Mark DePasquale has built a highly entrepreneurial team with a reputation for execution excellence; I look forward to taking this company to the next level through expanded services and offerings."
