Grant Stevens, M.D., FACS, founder of Marina Plastic Surgery Associates in Marina del Rey, CA (News - Alert), welcomes Ziyad S. Hammoudeh, M.D. to his practice. Dr. Hammoudeh joins plastic surgeon Luis Macias, MD, FACS, and a highly trained staff of physician assistants, aestheticians and nurses at the busy plastic surgery and skin care practice.

"We are delighted to bring Dr. Hammoudeh into the practice," said Dr. Stevens. "He completed a highly competitive aesthetic fellowship at the University of Southern California under my tutelage showing tremendous promise as a skilled surgeon. Now, after five years of general surgery, three years of plastic surgery and one year of aesthetic surgery specialization, he demonstrates exceptional expertise in all facets of plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as specialties in subfascial breast augmentation and ethnically sensitive revision rhinoplasty."

Dr. Hammoudeh attended Drexel University, where he received a BS in chemistry and graduated summa cum laude. He attended medical school at Temple University serving the underprivileged population of North Philadelphia. While in medical school, he did research at the University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on surgical outcomes of children born with cleft palates.

After medical school, Dr. Hammoudeh moved to Detroit to complete a five year general surgery residency at Wayne State University, where he trained with national leaders in trauma surgery. At Detroit Receiving Hospital, he treated many critically injured victims of gunshot wounds, burns and motor vehicle crashes. Following a general surgery residency, he became board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He then went on to complete a three year plastic surgery residency at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. During his training, Mayo Clinic was ranked as the number one hospital in the country by US News and World Report.

Following his plastic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic, he moved to Los Angeles to complete a highly competitive aesthetic fellowship in the University of Southern California program. During his fellowship, Dr. Hammoudeh trained with several of the nation's leaders in cosmetic plastic surgery to become an expert in advanced aesthetics.
