Immersion Renews License Agreement with PKG Enhancing Interface Panels with Haptics

Immersion Corporation (NASDAQ:IMMR), the leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, today announced that it has renewed a license agreement with PKG, Inc. (PKG User Interface Solutions). Idaho-based PKG is a contract designer, developer and manufacturer of various system-level products with expertise in human-machine interfaces serving customers in the medical, industrial, government and aerospace markets. The agreement provides PKG with access to Immersion's portfolio of over 2,500 haptic patents for its touch-enabled user interface panels.

Increasingly, tactile effects are being designed into human-interface applications as more equipment and devices incorporate haptics to enhance the user experience. For example, Immersion's high-quality touch effects can simulate the sensation of physical knobs or gauges on the flat panel of a medical diagnostic imaging equipment, providing a real-life, intuitive interface for the operator.

"We are pleased to continue our work with PKG," said Erin Ramsay, Director, Intellectual Property Licensing & Business Development. "Extending the power of touch to the digital world, our technology is in billions of devices where companies like PKG seek to differentiate their products with high-quality touch effects."
