Gurucul Joins VMware Mobile Security Alliance

Gurucul, a leader in predictive security analytics and intelligence for on-premises and the cloud, today announced it has joined the VMware Mobile Security Alliance (MSA) and integrated its Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) Platform with the VMware Workspace ONE™ digital workspace platform powered by VMware AirWatch (News - Alert) technology. This technology collaboration will provide a centralized solution to manage and secure access to any cloud, mobile, web and enterprise application from any corporate or personal (BYOD) endpoint device.

The combination of VMware Workspace ONE and Gurucul GRA will enable organizations to provide a frictionless and secure user experience by automating risk-based authentication and access decisions; while detecting potential security threats with behavior analytics. This capability will grant, deny or challenge users with additional forms of authentication when they attempt to access protected resources and perform sensitive transactions. GRA builds a 360-degree context of identity, devices, applications, access and activity based on data from Workspace One and other enterprise sources.

"With the proliferation of devices being used to access enterprise, cloud and mobile apps, organizations can no longer rely on one source of truth for protecting their IT resources," said Nilesh Dherange, Chief Technology Officer for Gurucul. "Combining identity, behavior analytics and risk scoring provided by Gurucul with the device and access intelligence from VMware Workspace ONE provides an enhanced user exerience, while protecting against account compromise attacks and insider threats that would otherwise go undetected."

"Mobile Security Alliance members are committed to an open platform approach integrating APIs to simplify mobile security administration and remediation to enable customers with comprehensive protection against threats on mobile devices, applications and networks," said Ashish Jain, vice president, Product Management, End-User Computing, VMware. "We welcome Gurucul to the Mobile Security Alliance. With this integration, VMware Workspace ONE will be able to leverage the Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) Platform and deliver a more contextual and secure end user experience."

Gurucul Risk Analytics (GRA) is a multi-use UEBA platform with an architecture that supports an open choice of big data for scale, the ability to ingest virtually any dataset for desired attributes and includes configurable prepackaged analytics. In addition, Gurucul STUDIO enables security teams to create custom machine learning models to meet unique customer requirements without coding and minimal data science knowledge. GRA ingests and analyzes huge volumes of data generated when users access and interact with business applications, in both the data center and the cloud, to generate risk scores, identify security threats and prevent data breaches. The Gurucul GRA platform has been successfully deployed by government agencies and Global Fortune 500 companies.
