Violence Prevention Experts in Bloomington, Minn for A CALL TO MEN's National Conference Promoting Healthy, Respectful Manhood and Gender and Racial Equality

A CALL TO MEN, a violence prevention organization and leading voice on manhood, male socialization and its intersection with violence, and preventing violence against all women and girls, will host its national conference - The Many Faces of Manhood - in Bloomington, MN, this week.

WHAT: The Many Faces of Manhood will explore healthy, respectful manhood in athletics, education, incarceration, fatherhood, faith communities, and around issues of gender. Embracing and promoting a healthy, respectful manhood prevents violence against women, sexual assault and harassment, trafficking, bullying, discrimination and other social ills.

The conference will convene influential and passionate speakers who are leading the national conversation on healthy, respectful manhood and gender equality, and driving community change in Minnesota. Conference attendees will learn how the collective socialization of men creates a fertile ground for violence and discrimination against women and girls. Those same notions of sexism and inequality hold men hostage to the rigid norms of manhood. As men are empowered to be their authentic selves, we will collectively create a world where all men and boys are loving and respectful and all women and girls are valued and safe. The conference is open to the public.

WHO: The Many Faces of Manhood is hosted by A CALL TO MEN and sponsored by the Women's Foundation of Minnesota. As a statewide community foundation and presenting sponsor of the conference, the Women's Foundation is committed to working with communities to achieve gender and racial equity.
