Nexthink Included in New Vendor Landscape on Cognitive Operations

BOSTON, Sept. 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Nexthink®, a leader in end-user experience management, today announced that it was included in Forrester Research’s newly published Vendor Landscape:  Cognitive Operations*. The report, which examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in IT Operations and Application Performance Management, listed Nexthink as claiming the four benefits of Cognitive Operations. These benefits include: reduced discovery effort, faster reaction and resolution of problems, proactive prevention of problems, and providing meaning to business impact.

“Forrester’s report on the benefits, drivers and vendors shaping the new era in IT Operations Management provides great insights into how AI is being applied to help IT departments drive faster and more predictive problem resolution to improve the end-user experience,” said Pedro Bados, CEO, Nexthink. “We believe it not only validates the importance of end-user experience management solutions in enabling IT operations to be more productive, but it also demonstrates the growing role of predictive analysis and AI in helping IT managers detect, prevent and resolve issues that can impact the productivity and satisfaction of end users.”

“Predictive analysis aims to anticipate and avoid problems, and vendos are making progress toward making that vision a reality,” write the Forrester report authors Eveline Oerhrlich, Mike Gualtieri and Milan Hansen. “Cognitive operations provides many additional benefits for I&O: It helps I&O pros monitor and manage larger, more complex environments with less effort; allows DevOps teams to predict and prevent problems or react to and resolve them faster; and can predict the business impact of a problem resolved or prevented. These benefits are all essential as technology gets more complex and its performance becomes more critical to business success.”

According to the Forrester report, “Technology has grown too much and too quickly for humans to monitor and operate it effectively. While computer-assisted analytics helps firms react to and resolve problems faster, predicting and preventing them is the Holy Grail.” The report also states that “IT operations management (ITOM) and application performance management (APM) solutions increasingly use artificial intelligence (AI) technology, such as machine learning, to automatically build predictive models that reduce effort, prevent problems, and react faster.”

In addition to the benefits of Cognitive Operations, the report provides guidelines and advice to I&O professionals on how they can build predictive capabilities into their service offerings.
