MAXIMUS Sr. Vice President of Technology Appointed to Virginia Tech College of Science Advisory Board


MAXIMUS, a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that Dr. Thomas Woteki, Senior Vice President of Technology, has been appointed to serve on the Roundtable Advisory Board for the Virginia Tech College of Science.

The College of Science Roundtable Advisory Board is a council of senior-level volunteers who provide guidance on programmatic and strategic issues affecting the future of the college. Roundtable members support the vision of the dean by serving as a resource to the eight departments, the School of Neuroscience, and the Academy of Integrated Science. The Advisory Board helps advance the academic stature of the college and serves as informed ambassadors for the college to the world at large. Dr. Woteki will actively participate in regular events to help inform members on faculty, students, program and resource needs.

Dr. Woteki, who received his Ph.D. in Statistics and a Masters in Mathematics from Virginia Tech, will bring his decades-long expertise to support and advise Dean Sally Morton on the identification of new and emerging technologies in the industry. His breadth of experience in large-scale systems engineering and integration, as well as software development, in both the public and private setors make him a valuable member of the Advisory Board. Dr. Woteki has proven expertise on a wide range of technology topics and is active in industry affairs including the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Comp-TIA, the Professional Services Council and ACT-IAC (News - Alert).



Dr. Woteki joined MAXIMUS with the acquisition of Acentia, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. He currently serves as a senior executive providing corporate-level thought leadership in the area of analytics and big data. He is also charged with developing partnerships and alliances with selected companies and organizations to expand and strengthen services and solution offerings at MAXIMUS with particular emphasis on analytics and big data. Dr. Woteki has more than 30 years of experience in large-scale systems engineering and integration and software development in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining MAXIMUS, he led a global consulting practice for Cisco Systems (News - Alert) and launched Cisco's Healthcare Solutions business bringing its Health Presence telemedicine product to market.
