Prometric Appoints Charles Kernan as President and CEO


Prometric, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ETS and trusted provider of market-leading test development and delivery solutions, named Charles Kernan as its new President and CEO to further strengthen core operational performance and accelerate a strategic focus on emerging growth opportunities in the testing and assessment industry. Kernan's appointment was effective June 1, 2017.

Kernan, 54, has a long track record of strong performance both inside and outside of the testing and assessment industry. As COO of Prometric for nearly 10 years, Kernan was responsible for Prometric's business and operational divisions. Under his leadership, he managed the company through many of its most significant enterprise transformations, guiding the expansion of Prometric's global test center network, global help desk operations, contact centers and on-demand testing operations as well as leading the international sales and global account management organization.

Kernan graduated from Connecticut College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He serves on several organizational boards, including BTL Learning & Assessment, a leading developer of reliable, secure and innovative technologies for assessment programs. He and Julie, his wife of 16 years, reside in Baltimore, MD.
