Certification requires experience: a minimum of 3,000 hours of specialty pharmacy prctice, education: 30 hours of Specialty Pharmacy ACPE approved CEs and expertise: validating advanced proficiency passing a comprehensive examination. The certification is presented by the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board, (SPCB). Certification examinations are based on scientific analysis of job tasks and pharmacological knowledge and are developed by testing experts, known as psychometricians, working with a broad array of subject matter experts. The SPCB Board has the sole and exclusive authority for the CSP certification program and is dedicated to promote the specialty pharmacists responsibility in maintaining the highest possible quality standards to advance ethical practice and to advocate for professional development to ensure that patients served receive safe, efficient care now and in the future.
