Notification regarding a Data Security Incident from Integrated Clark Monroe, LLC

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Clark Monroe, LLC, the owner of the Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago in Chicago, IL, and its management company, Interstate Management Company, LLC, report removing suspicious software from the front desk computer system that may have exposed information from payment cards used at check-in for guests who stayed at the hotel from September 27, 2016 - April 28, 2017. 

NOTE: This Security Incident does not involve Hyatt's or Interstate Management Company's systems.  This incident only involves the front desk computer system of this franchised hotel.

Upon learning of the suspicious activity, the hotel immediately contacted appropriate federal law enforcement officials, initiated an internal review, and engaged a third-party cybersecurity firm that deployed monitoring software at the hotel. The firm quickly identified the malicious software and removed it fom hotel systems. The hotel also took steps to upgrade security tools protecting the front desk system.

The unlawfully accessed data may have included names printed on customers' credit or debit cards, credit or debit card numbers, the security code and card expiration dates.  Guests who stayed at the hotel during the period above who presented a credit or debit card upon check-in, may have had such information compromised and are encouraged to review their statements from that time period through the present.

Guests who suspect unauthorized activity should report it to the issuer of the credit or debit card. The policies of the payment card brands such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover provide that you have zero liability for any unauthorized charges if you report them in a timely manner.
