harmon.ie Collage™ for Dynamics 365 Provides Big-Picture View of Customers Across Multiple Enterprise Apps

harmon.ie, provider of the first user experience tools for the digital workspace built to deliver information the way the human brain works, today announced its latest generation topic computing solution, Collage™ for Dynamics 365. Leveraging harmon.ie's Collage technology, which employs natural language processing and machine learning to uncover and associate topics across multiple apps, Collage for Dynamics 365 empowers personnel to focus on key opportunities and accounts - without being overwhelmed with notifications from disconnected apps like email, Zendesk, Office 365, SharePoint, Yammer (News - Alert), IBM Connections, and now Dynamics 365.

"Today's information workers are conditioned to think in a technology-centric way. They are inundated with tools meant to help them do their jobs better, but they end up spending too much time sifting through data and activities across multiple apps, platforms and accounts, rather than getting real work done. All this has led to information overload, lost productivity, and burnout," said Yaacov Cohen, co-founder and CEO of harmon.ie. "We want to shift this dynamic to put the human back at the center, making technology work the way people think, instead of the other way around."

In a forthcoming survey of business professionals, harmon.ie found that the modern knowledge worker uses more than nine apps, and most have somewhere between 5 and 9 apps open at any one time across their devices. To reduce the cognitive burden that comes from information spread across this vast network of apps, harmon.ie Collage presents information in the way our brains are naturally organized. This approach, called topic computing, is a new, neuroergonomic way of working that leverages cloud apps to organize information by topics - important subjects like customers, products, services,or projects - instead of by application. Viewing information by topic eases the strain on the human brain so workers can focus on what matters most, using artificial intelligence to assist humans make natural intelligence decisions; decisions that are impossible to replicate using machines.

Topic computing introduces a unique, pragmatic approach to artificial intelligence (AI). Unlike traditional AI, which tries to find patterns in big data and 'make sense' of them, topic computing observes the worker's current focus, such as viewing an email message or editing a document, to establish a context for what is important. Topic computing first employs natural language processing (NLP) to extract interesting topics from an email message or document and then matches those topics across notifications from all the worker's other enterprise applications. Using machine learning, it is then able to surface the most important notifications from any application, so workers can focus on what is important right now and take immediate action. Enterprise applications include email, Office 365, SharePoint, Zendesk, Yammer, IBM (News - Alert) Connections, and now Dynamics 365.

"Enterprise workers are not only struggling with the sheer volume of information, but also the number of channels it comes from. Understanding which pieces are relevant and making sense of all the information, especially in the context of the task you're performing, is becoming increasingly difficult," said Alan Lepofsky, vice president and principal analyst of Constellation Research. "Topic computing is a novel approach to combating this challenge, using artificial intelligence to deliver information in a more human-centric manner by emulating the way the brain works."

harmon.ie's new Collage for Dynamics 365 provides account managers who currently use Dynamics 365 and other apps to manage sales processes, with a big-picture view of what's happening with customers and prospects. By connecting enterprise apps and organizing information by topics in a single window, the new offering enables Dynamics 365 users to do the following:

  • Automatically surface insights and opportunities on key accounts and prioritize those that need immediate attention, directly in the email window.
  • Take action by launching native apps, such as updating the account status in Dynamics 365, directly from the email window. By working from the email client, employees stay focused, improve customer satisfaction and sell more, faster.
  • Save customer and prospect-related emails and documents in SharePoint, leading to significant cost savings on Dynamics 365 document storage.

For those interested in learning more about Collage for Dynamics 365, harmon.ie will be holding webinars on "How to Focus on Accounts Using Dynamics 365 and SharePoint" at 11:00 a.m. EDT (U.S.) and 11:00 a.m. BST (U.K.) on August 15.
