More Than $400K in Grants Awarded to 30 Community-Based OrganizationsFeeding hungry children in Arkansas and meeting basic needs of homeless Mississippians are just two of the causes championed by 30 community-based organizations (CBO) receiving $404,550 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP (News - Alert)) funds from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and 31 of its member institutions. Through this unique grant program, FHLB Dallas member institutions contribute $500 up to $4,000 to a CBO, which FHLB Dallas matches at a 3:1 ratio to provide the CBO up to $12,000 in grant money. Grants are awarded annually through FHLB Dallas' member institutions via a lottery system. In 2017, FHLB Dallas awarded $300,000 in PGP funds that were combined with the $104,550 contributed by FHLB Dallas members for a total of $404,550 to the organizations. Dallas, Texas-based TBK Bank and its nonprofit beneficiary 2nd Saturday Community Development Corporation (CDC) received one of the 30 PGP grants in 2017. The 2nd Saturday CDC was awarded a total of $16,000: $4,000 from TBK Bank with a $12,000 match from FHLB Dallas. It was the first PGP grant to the nonprofit and the first sponsored by TBK Bank. "TBK Bank is thankful for our relationship with both FHLB Dallas and 2nd Saturday CDC. Over the years we have been able to partner with 2nd Saturday financially through lending and charitable donations, as well as through service by sending employees to the monthly service projects in communities around Dallas," said Brandi Dunn, philanthropy specialist at TBK Bank. "The work that 2nd Saturday is doing to serve those living on the margins of poverty is impactful and important.
