Comodo Senior Research Scientist Kenneth Geers to Present at DEF CON 25 Hacker Convention

CLIFTON, N.J., July 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Comodo, a global innovator and developer of cybersecurity solutions and the worldwide leader in digital certificates, today announced that Senior Research Scientist Dr. Kenneth Geers will participate in two speaking sessions at the DEF CON 25 hacker convention in Las Vegas later this month.

Dr. Geers' presentation, "Traffic Analysis in Cyberspace," will explore the nature of traffic analysis, how it has evolved in the internet era and demonstrate the power of high-level analysis based on a large cybersecurity dataset. This presentation will be part of the Crypto & Privacy Village, which features workshops and talks from security and hacking experts.

Additionally, Dr. Geers will participate in the Atlantic Council Cyber Statecraft Initiative's "Congressional Cyber Caucus" among U.S. Congressional Representatives Ted Lieu (D-CA), James Langevin (D-RI), Will Hurd (R-TX) and Senator Mark Warner (D-VA). The caucus seeks to bridge the gap between the technical community and policymakers through "fireside chats" with representatives and security researchers, a joint exploration of the DEF CON events and an evening reception.

Founded in 1993, DEF CON is one of the oldest and largest continuously running hacker conventions. DEF CON 25 will take place July 27-30 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. To earn more, visit https://www.defcon.org.
