MageMail Joins Massive Internet-Wide Day of Action for Net Neutrality On July 12th

BOSTON, July 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MageMail, a digital marketing and e-commerce SaaS solutions provider for online retailers, has announced that it will participate in the Internet-Wide Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality scheduled for Wednesday, July 12th to oppose the FCC's plan to slash Title II, the legal foundation for net neutrality rules that protect online free speech and innovation and prevent internet service providers like Comcast and Verizon from slowing down, censoring, blocking, and charging extra fees online.

More than 50,000 entrepreneurs, startups, websites, investors, and other organizations will participate, including major internet companies such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, Reddit, Netflix, Amazon, Kickstarter, Etsy, Vimeo, Mozilla, OK Cupid, Imgur, and Medium.

MageMail has submitted its official opposition to the FCC and also joined more than 1,200 startups and investors who partnered with Techstars, Y Combinator, and Engine to sign a letter submitted to FCC Chairman span >Ajit Pai on April 26.

On July 12, MageMail and other participants will engage and encourage users through their sites, mobile apps, social media, and email to take action by contacting Congress and the FCC.

Erik Bullen, CEO of MageMail says, "Net neutrality is a foundation for American innovation, global competitiveness, and free markets. Slashing these rules would hurt all types of non-incumbent, internet businesses; reduce consumer choice; throttle entrepreneurship; and ultimately reduce economic growth and vitality. We ask that FCC Chairman Ajit Pai not to follow through and strongly urge individuals and organizations to make their voices heard on July 12."

"If we lose net neutrality, the Internet will never be the same," said Evan Greer, campaign director of Fight for the Future, one of the leading groups behind the protest, "No one wants their cable company to have control over what they can see and do online. Internet users know that their freedom is worth fighting for, and on July 12, we'll fight to win."
