Intuit Launches GST Version of QuickBooks to Help Small Businesses in India be GST-ready

BANGALORE, July 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

The world's No.1 online accounting software offers 30-Day Free Trial

Intuit QuickBooks has launched a Goods and Services Tax (GST) ready version of its online accounting product to help Indian businesses run their business as usual and be compliant with the new tax requirements.

QuickBooks from Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ: INTU) is the world's No.1 accounting software, with over 2.2 million users worldwide. The product serves the business and finance needs of small businesses and helps them be in complete control of their business 24/7 from anywhere, on a laptop or on a mobile device.

'QuickBooks is in India for India.' Customized for Indian small businesses, QuickBooks makes it easy for small businesses to track cash flow, create invoices, record expenses and auto-categorize income or expenses with the Online Bank Connect feature. Additionally, QuickBooks is designed to help businesses keep more of what they earn as they are able to match their expenses with the supplier invoices and save money with input tax credit.

GST is one of the biggest inflection points in the history of business in India. It's expected to help ease doing business in India by simplifying taxes under its theme of 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market'. GST shall enable digitization of the business workflows and more businesses will adopt automation as they are required to maintain and file all invoices generated.

"Intuit QuickBooks is the only accounting software in India that has experience of successfully rolling out GST-ready software in International markets," said Nikhil Rungta, Managing Director, Intuit India. "All businesses in India using QuickBooks will be seamlessly transitioning to GST without any extra charges or additional downloads. Over the last five years, Intuit QuickBooks has helped thousands of small businesses in India stay in complete control of their finances and accelerate the growth of their business. Our vision is that with QuickBooks, July 1 will be business as usual for our customers in India. Small business owners can focus on their business instead of worrying about the impact of GST on their business," added Nikhil Rungta.

"Intuit QuickBooks has always kept me well informed about my business, even whilst on the go. My favourite features are the consolidated graphs and pie charts that depict my financial information helping in planning expenses and budgets. With QuickBooks, my business is more streamlined, systematic and organized - helping accelerate my growth. My profession requires a lot of travel in order to service my clients. Storingall my data on the cloud helps me retrieve them at any given point of time - like taking my accountant everywhere I go. Registering for GST was also very easy with QuickBooks. There were certain tips and informative articles to understand the new tax policy in detail and the invoices I created were GST ready," said Suraj Nayak, Proprietor, Ecoscapes.

Intuit launched QuickBooks in India in 2012. Known as an employer of choice, Intuit is ranked No.1 in Great Places to Work and Economic Times India's Best Companies to Work for 2017. The company has been working on making their software GST ready in India for over a year now and have been helping their customer get ready for GST with their unique Get-Set-Take-off (GST) Program, which is all about:

- Get-Set - Education and Training: QuickBooks customers have been receiving regular updates via Newsletters, Facebook chats and the GST Resource Center on http://www.quickbooks.in . Intuit has also been providing training around GST through webinars and Facebook chat sessions with India's top accountants. They have also helped guide customers to register for GST.

- Take-off - Try and Buy: For the new customers who will be adopting digital software for the first time to run their business, QuickBooks offers a 30-day free trial to new users. They do not need a credit card to try and they can cancel anytime.

"I first became an Intuit QuickBooks certified ProAdvisor in 2014 and I have been very happy with the product ever since. The benefit that I have witnessed about the cloud is the access to data anytime, anywhere and on any device. I was not able to do this earlier as I used a desktop software for twenty years before making the switch to Intuit QuickBooks. I feel this is a beautiful use of technology. When I first started working with Intuit QuickBooks, I told all my clients that my business will grow when GST is implemented in India. Through Intuit QuickBooks, that dream has become a reality and now all my clients are on it," said, Prashant Lumdhe, Tax Consultant, Bhakti Services.
