CashStar to Speak at Maine Startup & Create Week

CashStar, the industry-leading provider of prepaid commerce solutions, today announced that its Vice President of Marketing, Nate Smith (News - Alert), will be speaking at Maine Startup & Create Week (MSCW), alongside Babson College Professor Wiljeana Glover, Ph.D. and Josh Rogers, founder of Cup of Sea, on the event's kickoff panel. In addition, CashStar's Senior Director of Product Engineering, John Sterling, will be presenting a lightning workshop during the week-long event being held June 19-23 in Portland.

The kickoff panel will focus on the most important question every entrepreneur needs to address - what problem will I solve? During their presentation, Smith, Glover and Rogers will discuss how talent, team and means are all vital components to high-growth and high-impact businesses, but learning how to direct those resources toward successfully solving a real-world problem is the difference between a bust and a unicorn. The session, "How d you identify the right problem to solve?" will be held on Monday, June 19 at 9am.

In the lightning workshop, "Company Culture: Building Great Teams While Flying the Plane," Sterling will discuss how a healthy team culture is an important element for reaching a team's goals. He will illustrate how great team and workplace cultures don't happen by accident, and while the values of a leader can help drive culture, it takes more than the CEO to achieve the culture you desire. The session is being held on Tuesday, June 20 at 10:45am.

CashStar will also participate in two of MSCW's core sessions by having booths at the Maine Technology Institute's (MTI) TechWalk on Wednesday, June 21 at 4:30pm and at the "Tech Hiring Fair" on Friday, June 23 at 4pm. Both events showcase some of Maine's most successful companies and present unique opportunities for attendees to meet Maine entrepreneurs and innovators. As the exclusive sponsor of MSCW's "Rest Stops" - stations where attendees can get refreshments and charge their devices - CashStar has surprises in store for conference attendees that engage with CashStar on social media.

Initiated in 2014, Maine Startup & Create Week focuses on celebrating entrepreneurship, cultivating creativity and inspiring high-impact innovation. The annual conference sets the goal of redefining the conventional wisdom of what an economic center looks like and what can be achieved outside of major metropolitan areas. It showcases the startup ecosystem in Maine, and looks to connect and support the entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, resource providers and advocates that drive it. The annual events have featured 300 speakers from 30 states and 3 countries.
