eMerge Americas Tech Conference Concludes With A Home Run

MIAMI, June 14, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Day two of the premier technology conference in Miami, eMerge Americas, began with the story of Waze co-founder, Uri Levine and his experience as an entrepreneur. Levine joked to the full-house that "The startup journey is a rollercoaster, there are ups and downs. In one day, you will be on top of the world and then crying at night." After selling Waze to Google in 2013, Levine began creating more startups that help with the everyday problems of society offering advice to understand who your users are and their perception of the product, and make mistakes, and make them fast so that you can fix them quickly.

Inspiration, Innovation, and a Nod to the Future Take Center Stage at eMERGE Americas 2016

"We were excited to start the second day with a keynote speaker that truly embodies our mission at eMerge, bringing together new tech talent with experienced founders within the global startup ecosystem to discuss major trends and opportunities," said Xavier Gonzalez, CEO of eMerge Americas. "Every year, we continue to attract more and more speakers from every industry to share their wealth of knowledge, and most of all, failures ad successes with a captivated audience."

Also, beginning its presentations today was the Women Innovation Technology (WIT) stage, where Shiza Shahid told her inspiring story of how she beat overwhelming odds to become a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. Shadid shared, "Growing up in Pakistan, and having these interactions, is what gave me a lens of curiosity and empathy. It is what evolved my understanding of the world and helped me find how I can make an impact."

As always, the conference focused on Miami as a technology hub of the Americas, featuring Rony Abovitz, Founder and CEO of Magic Leap, and University of Miami Alum. Abovitz stated, "I think there is definitely something going on here (in Miami), when I speak to people from Latin America, they talk about Miami like we talk about Silicon Valley." In addition, Alex Rodriguez, former Major League Baseball player, closed out the final day sitting on a panel with media executives Mark Hoffman and Cesar Conde. The panelists discussed the rising effects that Latino's have financially, and its relation to a growing Miami economy.
