Internet of Things Device Management Revenue Will Increase 107% in 2017, According to MachNation's Newest IoT Platform ScoreCard

BOSTON, May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MachNation announces availability of the industry's first global IoT Device Management ScoreCard, an in-depth evaluation and rating of 18 Internet of Things device management vendors.

According to survey data collected from participating vendors in the scorecard, IoT device management revenue will grow at a blazing 107% in 2017 with only 33% of the revenue coming from North America. MachNation forecasts that 2017 worldwide IoT platform revenue will reach USD2.0 billion as enterprise buyers invest in the underlying technology to power their IoT solutions. MachNation survey data show that sectors including energy/utilities, transportation, industrial, manufacturing and smart cities generate the most revenue for device management vendors.

"MachNation, the industry's most knowledgeable researchers for IoT middleware and platforms, has coordinated the publication of our scorecard with the product launch of our new IoT Device Management research program/a>," said Dima Tokar, Co-founder and Head Analyst, MachNation. "Our newest research program focuses on best-in-class approaches to help enterprises and service providers deploy and manage IoT devices at scale."

MachNation's IoT Device Management ScoreCard is the industry's most comprehensive technical review of relevant vendors. The research provides a detailed review of product capabilities, SDKs, APIs and documentation to help enterprises manage IoT sensors, devices and gateways at scale.

MachNation's ScoreCard contains several quadrants and matrices to help clarify an emerging, yet understudied device management ecosystem. The ScoreCard ranks vendors across 18 detailed technical and business requirements including integration tools, lifecycle management support, technology architecture and security approaches.

"The IoT device management space is quite complex and until now has been less deeply understood than other technology sectors in IoT," said Sam Hale, analyst and IoT implementation specialist, MachNation. "Our recommendations are based on extensive developer documentation review, hands-on product testing and countless live demos of IoT device management platforms."

According to Hale, "In order to capture the key trends in the ecosystem, we completed an in-depth analysis of the following vendors: ARM, Amazon, Axonize, Bosch, Cloud of Things, Cumulocity / Software AG, DevicePilot, Friendly Technologies, Huawei, Microsoft, Particle, PTC, Relayr / Proximetry, Sierra Wireless, SiteWhere, Telit, Thingsboard and Wind River."
