Canon Solutions America Customer Uses Print Capabilities to Support Great Cause

MELVILLE, N.Y., May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Canon Solutions America, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced that its valued customer, PrintWorks & Co. is a proud sponsor of the annual Amy's Ride-Run-Walk in Quakertown, PA. Powered by Canon Solutions America, PrintWorks was well-resourced to extend its print services to the community event, which raises money to fund pancreatic cancer research, awareness and advocacy efforts. The event took place Saturday, May 20th, with all signage and direct mail marketing material provided – free of charge – by PrintWorks.

Once again, the PrintWorks team showing their support for local community initiatives at last weekend's event.

PrintWorks is a full-service printing firm that creates individualized printing and direct mail marketing solutions for a variety of corporate, non-profit, educational and religious organizations. When Amy's Ride-Run-Walk inquired about print services three years ago, PrintWorks' owner, Marty Wolfe, offered his support in any means possible regardless of whether or not a business relationship came about. Inspired by his father, a pancreatic cancer survivor, Wolfe proved through this act of kindness that PrintWorks is in fact, more than just print, as proclaimed by the company and is willing to support greater initiatives across the region.

"We at PrintWorks want to make sure we offer our customers the best all-around experience and that means going beyond print," said Marty Wolfe, owner of PrintWorks & Co. "We are confident in our ability to provide quality products at affordable rates, especially with the support of Canon Solutions America. We are overjoyed that Amy's Ride-Run-Walk team recognized our honest interest in the cause and that we had the capacity to be a greater part of this effort."

Since 2015, the cycling, running and walking event known as Amy's Ride-Run-Walk has united the Pennsylvania community in an effort to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. In honor of Amy (Cygan) Spier, who lost her 3-year battle with pancreatic cancer in 2014, her 10 siblings joined forces to organize an initiative that would keep her memory alive by continuing the fight against the disease. Proceeds raised from the fundraiser are used to benefit pancreatic cancer research at institutions throughout the country and, in particular, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, the hospital where Amy was treated and among the top programs in the country for groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research. The 2015 inaugural event raised an astonishing $32,000 with an additional $26,240 raised in 2016. This year's event brought together over 450 participants and raised $45,000.

Founded in 1924, PrintWorks has introduced the very latest in print production technologies and workflows, resulting in the area's most versatile and responsive print marketing provider, and even more so under the 18 year leadership of Marty Wolfe. Aside from introducing PrintWorks to a give-back business mentality, Mr. Wolfe also brought with him a graphic design background that transformed PrintWorks into a Design, Print and Mailing Company with an emphasis on creativity, no-excuses performance and customer satisfaction. According to Mr. Wolfe, the company manages to stay relevant by its ability to consistently reinvest into the business, while keeping the customers' needs top of mind.

"PrintWorks' genuine interest in our mission was manifested since the first day we approached the company for print services," said Dave Cygan from Amy's Ride-Run-Walk. "We are treated like paying customers and receive best-quality work in a timely manner from an actively involved team. This year PrintWorks introduced us to a new approach by putting together a direct mail marketing campaign, and even sent a team to participate in the event - we are very proud and thankful to have them as our sponsor."

Determined to increase versatility and allow customers to benefit from the best turnaround times, while containing costs, PrintWorks acquired a varioPrint 115. The device is part of the varioPRINT 140 Series of monochrome digital presses. It is a true digital printing solution that's easy to use and helps Print Works deliver high-quality, consistent images while helping increase operator productivity. With a minimal footprint requirement, it fits in most operations and helps reduce the environmental impact of the business. PrintWorks utilized the varioPrint 115, as well as other Canon devices, to make its contribution to the Amy's Ride-Run-Walk initiative possible.

"We are thrilled to learn that our print equipment is having a greater impact than imagined on the communities in which they operate," said Peter Kowalczuk, executive vice president, Sales and Zone Operations, Enterprise Services and Solutions, Canon Solutions America. "Our mission at Canon Solutions America is to help businesses grow, but also highlight those stories that capture the power of print. We proudly extend our support to PrintWorks for taking part in philanthropic causes, such as Amy's Ride-Run-Walk, with the help of our devices and inspiring us all."
