Startup World Cup 2018 is on the Hunt for the 2nd $1,000,000 Winner: Applications Open for Startups, Partners, and Sponsors


Startup World Cup, a global startup pitch competition with a $1,000,000 investment prize, returns with the Startup World Cup 2018 series to search for the next world champion amongst the top startups from around the globe.

Thousands of startups from all around the world have applied to the 2017 series. Winners from the 15 regional events pitched their startups at the Grand Finale, and UniFa from Japan took home the trophy with the $1,000,000 investment prize, and other regional champions received $10,000 value in legal services from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and Portfolio Package from Salesforce for Startups. Second place went to Open Bionics from the United Kingdom, and third place went to Ahlijasa from Indonesia. Startups interested in global exposure, mentorship fom global investors, and the winning prizes are encouraged to apply for Startup World Cup 2018 regional events here.



Startup World Cup 2017 series hosted 15 regional events around the world. Some of the regional events had been co-organized with large technology and startup conferences, including: ad:tech in the USA and Japan, StartCon in Australia, World Startup Expo in India, MIT (News - Alert) Asia Business Conference in the USA, App Show Korea in South Korea, and SA Innovation Summit in South Africa. Due to the significant number of inquiries from new regions, Startup World Cup 2018 has decided to increase the global outreach and is now welcoming applications for new regional partners and media partners here.

Sponsored by Wistron Corporation, one of the world's largest manufacturing companies from Taiwan, and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, an international law firm founded in San Francisco, Startup World Cup 2017 Grand Finale featured prominent figures from the entrepreneurship community, including Steve Wozniak (News - Alert) (Co-Founder of Apple), Daymond John (Star of ABC's SharkTank & Founder of FUBU), Alexis Ohanian (Co-Founder of Reddit) and Guy Kawasaki (former Chief Evangelist of Apple (News - Alert)).
