Audible Releases Basket of Deplorables, an Original Audiobook Written by Tom Rachman

Audible Studios, a production arm of Audible.com, today announced the release of Basket of Deplorables, a new work of fiction written exclusively for Audible by acclaimed author Tom Rachman (The Imperfectionists, The Rise and Fall of Great Powers). Consisting of five stunning, intricately linked stories, Basket of Deplorables addresses a seismic shift in American politics with an incisive and satirical look at the United States in the era of presidential data breaches, liberal self-righteousness, red-hat rancor, and Internet sinkholes. Performed by Edoardo Ballerini, Robin Miles, Jonathan Davis, Oliver Wyman (News - Alert) and Allyson Johnson, Basket of Deplorables is now available for download at www.audible.com/Rachman.

"With Basket of Deplorables, Tom Rachman cements his status as one of the great satirists and cultural observers today," said Audible Chief Content Officer Andy Gaies. "He's created a deeply relevant and satisfying work that truly resonates in audio with the performances of this esteemed cast."

"After the election, so many of us - whether horrified, or jubilant, or in shock - felt imelled to talk about what had occurred," said Rachman. "Basket of Deplorables was my way of expressing what I felt. Writing with audio in mind was a new challenge and a pleasure too -- especially when I got to hear this talented cast bring my tales to life."

With a 30-day membership trial at Audible, new listeners can enjoy any one audiobook, including this beautifully performed production of Basket of Deplorables, free.
