Idaho Virtual Academy Celebrates Its Ninth Graduating Class


Idaho Virtual Academy (IDVA), a statewide online public charter school, will celebrate the Class of 2017 with three in-person graduation ceremonies across the state.

Reese Beard and Elijah Newberry are co-valedictorians of the Class of 2017, and Gabriel Steward is the salutatorian. This is the ninth graduating class from Idaho Virtual Academy.

Collectively, IDVA's 159 graduates have been offered more than $170,000 in college scholarships. Students have reported that they will attend colleges and universities across the country, including Boise State University, College of Western Idaho, University of Idaho, Eastern Idaho Technical College, Lewis-Clark State College, Brigham Young University-Idaho, College of Southern Idaho, College of Idaho, College of Western Idaho, North Idaho College, Northwest Nazarene University, Washington State University, Baylor University, Seattle University, Howard College, WyoTech and University of Wyoming.

"Graduation is such a special day for our students," said Kelly Edginton, head of school for Idaho Virtual Academy. "We are so proud of our graduates, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for each of them."

IDVA provides students statewide in kindergarten through 12th grade with a learning environment that works for them. The range of classes, extracurricular activities and supportive community give students of all abilities and backgrounds the chane to thrive.



IDVA will hold three graduation ceremonies across the state. Media is welcome to attend. Details are as follows:
