BuildingDNA Names Joe Hernandez as CEO

BuildingDNA (www.BuildingDNA.com), the leader in visual intelligence for smarter, safer buildings, announced today the addition of 9-1-1 safety services veteran and public safety thought leader Joe Hernandez. As CEO, Hernandez is bringing his decades of industry experience to BuildingDNA to continue to foster the company's steadfast commitment to public safety.

"When first responders are dispatched to an incident at a building, they have little to no situational awareness of what's going on inside," said BuildingDNA CEO Joe Hernandez. "We recognize this need and have created a solution that provides real time visual awareness of what's going on inside a building, from anywhere at anytime."

Through Intrabuilding Visual Awareness (IVA), BuildingDNA's Internet of Things (IoT)-based pltform combines smart visual mapping, connected systems and predictive/prescriptive analytics via live data feeds, sensors and cameras. The result enhances situational awareness for first responders in the event of an emergency and streamlines building operations management.

Hernandez's career successes in public safety began early on. At Intrado (News - Alert), now West Safety Services, he was instrumental in the development of a nationwide next generation 9-1-1 architecture. During this time, Hernandez garnered key strategic partnerships with major carriers to deploy integrated voice, data, text and video for Public Safety Answering Points across the United States. Additionally, Hernandez successfully positioned the company as a leader in the public safety IoT market.

In addition to his role as BuildingDNA CEO, Hernandez serves as Adjunct Professor at The University of Denver (News - Alert), Daniels School of Business.
