The K(NO)W Identity Conference brings together the world's foremost identity experts and thought leaders for a unique opportunity to learn, network and collaborate. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with key stakeholders from the companies, educational institutions, government agencies, and development organizations shaping the future of identity.

Cuomo will be speaking on a panel at 1:15 p.m. Eastern Time on May 15 entitled, "Trusted Digital Identity Networks: A Journey Towards Self-Sovereign Identity." Panelists will discuss how a self-sovereign identity model would benefit consumers and help solve the challenges of identity breaches and fraud for businesses. The panel will explore how the current model of digital identity has become unsustainable, and a shift from intermediary- or provider controlled to user-controlled or self-sovereign digital identity is underway. Additional panelists include Chuck Hounsell, SVP, Payments, TD Bank and Greg Wolfond, CEO, ecurekey Technologies Inc.

Arun will be speaking on a panel at 2:30 p.m. on May 16 entitled, "Identity on Blockchains." This panel will examine the practical challenges and opportunities of various blockchain and distributed ledger technologies for identity management, and will also include Katherine Noall, CEO, ExistenceID, Susan Poole, Advisor, Mooti Digital Identity, Timothy Ruff, CEO, Evernym, Inc. and Steve Wilson, VP and Principal Analyst, Constellation Research.

As an IBM Fellow and Vice President of Blockchain Technologies, Cuomo is leading the creation of an emerging business unit to define IBM's bockchain strategy, offerings and customer engagement approach. He is known as one of the fathers of the IBM WebSphere software brand, where he served as Chief Technology Officer for 15 years.

Arun is program director driving IBM's blockchain and identity solutions business strategy, go-to market offerings and execution. He brings over 18 years of IT industry experience working with IBM for 14 years, and with Unisys, Tata and a start-up Diablo Technologies.
IBM is a sponsor of the K(NO)W Identity Conference.

Earlier this year, IBM announced that it is working with SecureKey Technologies to enable a new digital identity network based on IBM Blockchain. The network will be designed to make it easier for consumers to verify they are who they say they are, in a privacy-enhanced, security-rich and efficient way.
