Earth Networks to Release 2017 Summer Outlook

Earth Networks will release its 2017 Summer Outlook on May 18, 2017. The forecast will be presented in a live webinar at 2:00 p.m. ET by James Aman, Senior Meteorologist at Earth Networks. After last summer brought above average temperatures to most of the U.S. and drought conditions in the West, Northeast and Southeast, the Meteorology Team at Earth Networks is looking ahead to reveal the forecast for this summer season.

Earth Networks is calling for increased chances for above normal temperatures for several regions of the U.S. Join our Summer Outlook webinar to learn more, including:

  • Temperature Outlook: Will we see above normal temperatures, or does the cool spring mean temperatures will trend lower?
  • Precipitation Prediction: How will the potential return of an El Niño pattern impact rainfall?
  • Regional Insights: How will projected indicators of above normal temperatures impact Oklahoma and Central and West Texas? Will anticipated below-normal rainfall in Georgia and Florida ead to an increased risk of forest fires?

About the Earth Networks Summer Outlook

Every spring, a team of meteorologists at Earth Networks researches a large number of climate indicators that will affect temperatures and precipitation across the United States during the upcoming summer. One of the primary drivers of the summer forecast is whether El Niño will stage a repeat appearance in the Pacific Ocean as we head into the summer months. In addition, various long-term cycles of ocean water temperatures, as well as existing spring climate conditions across the U.S. both play a role in determining summer weather.
