Salt Lake City-based motivational speaker and best-selling author Dan Clark, 2017 winner of the Air Force Recruiting Service's prestigious American Spirit Award, is now adding talk radio host to his lengthy set of achievements. Clark's new show is launching on VoiceAmerica's Talk Radio Network, airing Tuesdays from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time beginning today, via www.voiceamerica.com.

Clark, the author of more than 31 books and a Hall of Fame speaker, was recently honored with the American Spirit Award on January 26 at the International Air Force Recruiting Service Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas. The American Spirit Award is Air Force Recruiting Service's highest form of recognition. Started in 1980, it recognizes one civilian or single civilian organization that has made a significant impact on Airmen and the Air Force around the world. Past award recipients include Bob Hope, Rudolph Giuliani, Dolly Parton, Ted Turner and the Dallas Cowboys football team.

"I can think of no better person to get this award," said Major General arret Harencak, Air Force Recruiting Service commander, who presented Clark with the American Service Award January 26 at the International Air Force Recruiting Service Leadership Conference in San Antonio. "He's a friend to each one of us in the Air Force. He's our wingman. You know before you go into peril, your wingman will be there, and even when you didn't know Dan, he was there for us."

Few in history have given as selflessly as Clark to the Air Force organization. Since 2001, Clark has given 350 free speeches to Airmen around the world, which includes speaking to every graduating class of the Air Force Squadron Officer School (SOS (News - Alert)) and the Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) at Air University from 2001 to "sequestration" in 2013.

Clark has served on the National Civic Leaders Board with three Air Force Chiefs of Staff, has been the keynote speaker at three different four-star general Corona Top leadership conferences, and has taken eight trips to speak to U.S. combat troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa.

As a Master of Ceremonies, Clark hosted the celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Clark also helped to raise more than $1.2 million at the Air Force Aid Society Charity Ball during the two years he emceed the event.

In total, Clark has volunteered more than 3,000 hours of service to Airmen and their families.
