Global Fraud and Security Leaders to Join Forces in Miami to Identify and Combat Network Fraud

  • On Tues., May 9, Scott Puopolo, Executive Vice President of Information Solutions, iconectiv, will kick-off the conference with an opening day welcome address to attendees.
  • Later that morning, John Kimmins (News - Alert), Senior Security Director, iconectiv, and Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council WG10 Co-Chair will present a session focused on current security threats and next generation network technology and services.
  • That afternoon, John Haraburda, Principal Solutions Engineer Director, iconectiv, will provide an overview of numerous types of telecom fraud and ways to detect them as well as discuss the many benefits the latest virtualization technology is bringing to networks.

"Fraud is an ongoing and continuously evolving threat to the entire telecommunications ecosystem; however, fraud can be proactively identified and thwarted when the brightest minds in our industry work together. FASG provides the ideal forum for that kind of collaboration," said Puopolo.

Other industry experts schedled to speak during the three-day event include thought leaders from telecom organizations and fraud prevention agencies including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom (News - Alert), Orange, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).



The GSMA's Fraud and Security Group (FASG) has been established to drive the industry's management of fraud and security matters related to GSM technology, networks and services. FASG provides an open, receptive and trusted environment within which fraud and security intelligence and incident details can be shared in a timely and responsible way.
