Former U.S. Army Healthcare CIO Robert Wren Joins MetroStar Systems

RESTON, Va., April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MetroStar Systems, Inc. has appointed enterprise IT and healthcare technology leader Robert Wren as Director of IT Transformation and Enterprise Architecture. Robert will be at the forefront of MetroStar's commitment to creating leading-edge enterprise innovations for its commercial and Federal healthcare government clients.

"MetroStar has an impressive history, immense growth potential, and a strong reputation as innovators in the industry. I am excited to be part of a team that values transformation through passion and innovation," says Robert Wren. "The enthusiasm in the leadership team is contagious. They have an honest belief that the brilliance of technology is not in the widgets themselves, but in the people behind the widgets."

A seasoned enterprise IT strategist with over 30 years of leadership experience, Robert brings a wealth of expertise to MetroStar. He has been the driving force of numerous enterprise management, business intelligence and cybersecurity programs, particularly in the field of healthcare technology.

Robert served as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Healthcare Information Systems Officer in the U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD) for more than 20 years. During this time, he successfully led the strategic development of innovative IT roadmaps and the implementation of enterprise-wide IT programs for a number of complex organizations.

"As MetroStar welcomes Robert Wren, we enter a space where we become truly transformative," says MetroStar Systems CEO Ali Reza Manouchehri "His experience in enterprise, military, and healthcare IT gives us a great advantage, but our true leverage is his ethos as an innovative problem solver."

Manouchehri adds, "Now, more than ever, MetroStar is changing the game. We are constantly innovating to create solutions—not services—that transform how enterprises work. There has never been a more exciting time to have Robert lead the charge."

In 2005, Robert brought his expertise in medical systems to General Dynamics Information Technology, becoming the first CIO and Senior Cybersecurity Expert for the Army's Integrated Clinical Systems Program Office. He served as the organization's primary IT advisor for global medical technology programs in support of the U.S. Army, specifically leading Teleradiology development across the Pacific Region and Europe.

Robert most recently served as the President and Senior Consultant for Information Technology and Cybersecurity at Strategic Technologies Consulting, where he spearheaded IT integration and cybersecurity efforts in support of the Department of Defense.

At MetroStar, Robert's appointment reiterates the company's transformative approach to Enterprise IT. His extensive experience in IT modernization and the Defense sector enhances MetroStar's capabilities in providing strategic, holistic and innovation-driven enterprise solutions to its government clientele.

"When it comes to IT transformation, the pieces must be in sync: people, processes, technology, and business needs," says Robert. "I believe that MetroStar is the right company with the right people at the right time, who are able to bring the right technology solutions."
