ApacheCon™ + Apache: Big Data 2017 to Feature Unparalleled Educational Content, Plus Co-Located Events, Networking Activities and More
SAN FRANCISCO, April 20, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit advancing professional open source management for mass collaboration, today announced the lineup of activities and co-located events at ApacheCon™ + Apache: Big Data, taking place May 16-18 in Miami, FL.
The Linux Foundation events are where the leading technologists meet, collaborate, learn and network in order to advance innovations that support the world's largest shared technologies.
ApacheCon + Apache: Big Data draws attendees from around the world to learn about core open source technologies directly from Apache project developer and user communities --independent of business interests, corporate biases, or sales pitches.
Activities at this year's event include:
- Hundreds of educational sessions - One registration provides access to all ApacheCon and Apache: Big Data sessions.
- Apache Traffic Server and Traffic Control Summit - Taking place before ApacheCon + Apache: Big Data on May 14-15. Separate registration required.
- BarCampApache- This 'unconference', facilitated by participants in various Apache projects, takes place Monday, May 15.
- Multiple sub-conferences:
- ApacheIoT, May 16-18 - Lays the vision, framework, and components for an IoT system architected to operae at scale for a wide range of compelling use cases.
- CloudStack Collaboration Conference, May 16-18 - Provides the opportunity to learn and collaborate on CloudStack, while also discovering new projects.
- FlexJS Summit, May 18 - Shows where FlexJS is today and lays out the future for the FlexJS project.
- TomcatCon, May 16-18 - Offers an opportunity to discuss the current Tomcat roadmap and help inform future development.

- Tux's Bookworms - The Linux Foundation has set a goal of gathering 20,000 books from events around the world in 2017. Attendees are encouraged to bring one or more children's books to donate to the effort, which will be given to local Miami charity, Read to Learn Books for Free.
