SAIC Teams Up with the Washington Nationals to Sponsor the Patriotic Series


Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC (News - Alert)) and the Washington Nationals will team up again to present the Washington Nationals Patriotic Series, a four-game series that honors the men and women who currently serve or have served in the U.S. armed forces.

As the presenting sponsor for each game of the series, SAIC will underwrite hundreds of Nationals tickets and donate them to partnering nonprofit organizations, including Feeding America with its partner Capital Area Food Bank, Luke's Wings, The Mission Continues, Operation Homefront, Pentagon Memorial Fund, and USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore (USO-Metro).

SAIC's partnering nonprofit organizations will distribute these tickets to members of each organization including, but not limited to, active duty military personnel, reservists, retirees, veterans, wounded warriors, and their families.

The 2017 Patriotic Series includes the following games:

  • Military Appreciation Day - Wednesday, April 12 vs. St. Louis Cardinals at 4:05 p.m.
  • Memorial Day - Sunday, May 28 vs. San Diego Padres at 1:35 p.m.
  • Independence Day - Tuesday, July 4 vs. New York Mets at 11:05 a.m.
  • Heroes Day - Sunday, Sept. 10 vs. Philadelphia Phillies at 1:35 p.m.

During the Military Appreciation Day game, SAIC will recognize Feeding America with its partner Capital Area Food Bank, the largest organization in the Washington metro area working to solve hunger, and The Mission Continues, an organization that redeploys veterans to provide service n their communities while helping them adjust to life after the military.



On Memorial Day, SAIC will host Operation Homefront, a national organization that provides emergency assistance to military families, and Luke's Wings, an organization dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle.

In celebration of Independence Day, SAIC will recognize USO-Metro, which provides programs and services to military members and their families living and traveling throughout the Washington-Baltimore region.


Heroes Day, the Nationals' Sept. 11, 2001 remembrance, will honor Pentagon Memorial Fund by remembering the lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, as well as recognizing the resolve and compassion demonstrated by first responders in the wake of disaster.

In addition to the Patriotic Series, SAIC will sponsor the Bryce Harper starting lineup figurine, which will be given to the first 20,000 fans entering the park and attending the Tuesday, Aug. 29 game against the Miami Marlins.
