International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium and Illinois Tech Announce Partnership to Jointly Host the IMTC Connect Forum and 13th Annual Real-Time Communications Conference, Expo & Hackathon


The International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (News - Alert) (IMTC) and the Illinois Institute of Technology Real-Time Communications Lab are pleased to announce their event partnership to jointly host the annual IMTC Connect Forum and IIT Real-Time Communications (RTC) Conference and Expo taking place September 25 - 28, 2017 in Hermann Hall on the Illinois Tech Mies campus in Chicago, IL.

The IIT RTC Conference and IMTC Connect Forum are globally recognized collaborative events where multimedia and real-time communications industry and academia connect. This conference will bring together technical professionals and business executives from the data and telecommunications industry, standards bodies, policy and regulatory institutions, and academic educators and researchers to promote an open exchange of ideas to lead future development in the rapidly changing field of real-time communications.

The event is a multi-tracked conference that will run over two and a half days focusing on the major areas of:

  • Internet of Things (IoT)
  • WebRTC
  • Video and Audio Multimedia Communications
  • Real Time Multimedia Software Defined Networks (RTM SDN) and Cloud Communications
  • Next Generation 911
  • Mobile Networks and Applications

The IIT Main Campus will host a TADHack Chicago venue. The winners of this event will present their pitches the following week during a conference keynote.

Important and timely topics in real-time communications taught by leading subject matter experts, will be available Monday free of charge to Full-conference registrants.

IPTComm

IPTComm, an independent academic conference whose focus is applied research in the area of Real-Time communications will once again be hosted as a track within the RTC Conference. Research papers accepted by IPTComm will be presented in the track and published on IEEE (News - Alert) XPlore.

The Real-Time Communications (RTC) Lab at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) is a unique venue in which industry and academia connect and collaborate. The lab is an educational facility dedicated to teaching, research and development activities that further the advancement of networked communications.
