Apriva Completes Additional EMV Certification of Globalcom's BV1000

Apriva, a leading provider of omnichannel payment solutions and secure mobile communications, announced today that it has completed an additional EMV certification with TSYS for Globalcom Engineering's BV1000 device connecting through the Apriva Gateway (News - Alert). This certification provides vendors with the ability to provide more secure payment options to customers in unattended retail environments, such as self-service parking and car wash solutions, and provides another EMV processor option for Apriva's large network of resellers.

The certification spans all major card brands including Visa, Mastercard, American Express (News - Alert) and Discover, enabling the use of EMV chip card technology. The Globalcom BV1000 units are ruggedized for use outdoors and can withstand extreme weather conditions, making them ideal for this purpose. Due to its durable nature, this unattended solution is frequently used at self-service payment stations in parking garages and car washes around the country.

"Unattended payment solutions must bring durability, safety, security and flexibility to merchants so they can accept payments as technologies and security standards evolve," said Stacey Finley Tappin, senior vice president of sales and marketing communications at Apriva. "In addition to the EMV certification on Global Payments, this latest EMV certification on TSYS builds on our partnerships with Globalcom (News - Alert) and our various processor partners to deliver more choices to unattended vendors and their customers throughout the U.S."

Apriva's Integration Services Program allows Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), and mobile and embedded developers, to easily implement credit, debit, EBT, loyalty and closed-loop payment processing-including multiple campus card systems-into their solutions. Once integrated, applications and POS solutions can communicate with the Apriva Gateway over a wired or wireless network. Apriva maintains relatioships with more than 30 payment processors in North America, along with all of the leading wireless carriers, and currently works with more than 1,100 merchant acquirers and ISOs across the United States and Canada, giving merchants and partners the choice to deploy end-to-end solutions best fit for their business.

"Patrons of unattended solutions want simple, safe and secure payments," said Alessandro Gardinazzi, international business development for Globalcom Engineering. "Combining our proven EMV hardware with Apriva's connections gives consumers and vendors the customizable, high quality, and secure experience they desire. Furthermore, Apriva has been a great partner for entering the U.S. market due to their knowledge of the U.S. unattended market and regulations and their unmatched processor connections, which will enable us to penetrate multiple market segments more quickly."
