SCA 4.1 Requirements Allocation, Objectives, and Verification Criteria Document Released by Wireless Innovation Forum SCA 4.1 Compliancy Project Task GroupThe Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum), a non-profit international industry association dedicated to driving the future of radio communications and systems worldwide, today announced the publication of the SCA 4.1 Requirements Allocation, Objectives, and Verification Criteria (WINNF-16-P-0025-V1.0.0), produced by the group's SCA 4.1 Compliance Criteria Task Group, led by Jimmie Marks of Raytheon (News - Alert) (NYSE: RTN). The task group completing the work was launched at WInnComm 2016, held in Reston, Virginia, 15-17 March 2016, by the WInnForum's Coordinating Committee on International SCA Standards (CC SCA) to establish a common interpretation of SCA 4.1 requirements and a common set of compliance criteria for the SCA 4.1 specification. The resulting document, approved by Forum membership this week, provides allocation and testability analysis of SCA 4.1 requirements, as well as compliance criteria. The document contains a table of the SCA 4.1 requirement numbers, SCA 4.1 requirement text, their allocation to Operating Environment (OE), Application (AP) or to OE and AP indicated as "Both", Requirement Objective, and Requirement Verification Criteria. The document rovides a common interpretation of SCA 4.1 requirements and compliance criteria for the SCA 4.1 specification that can be used by developers of SCA 4.1 products and by Certification Authorities developing SCA 4.1 certification processes," said Marks. In January 2015, the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC) announced publication of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) 4.1 Draft, an architecture framework developed to assist in the development of software defined radio communication systems, capturing the benefits of recent technology advances which are expected to greatly enhance interoperability of communication systems and reduce development and deployment costs. The Forum's CC SCA worked with the JTNC to develop those technical recommendations and WInnForum Standards for SCA 4.1 since November 2013. Following the release of the draft standard in January 2015 the CC SCA also adjudicated issues submitted by the general public and submitted subsequent recommendations. The JTNC announced publication of the final SCA 4.1 specification in August 2015 and it is available through the JTNC website: http://jtnc.mil/sca/Pages/default.aspx.
