Kalray to Demonstrate 3+ Million IOPS with an NVMe-oF JBOF SystemSANTA CLARA, Calif., March 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kalray, a leading provider of acceleration solutions for data centers will demonstrate an NVMe-oF (Non-Volatile Memory express over Fabrics) JBOF (Just a Bunch of Flash) system in the SK Hynix booth at the OCP Summit. The Summit will be taking place at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California, on March 8-9. The remote storage system will consist of 2 JBOFs, each with 13 SKHMS M.2 PCIe Carriers integrating 4 SKHMS PE3110 SSDs each, as well as 6 Kalray KONIC40 SmartNICs. This configuration yields 104 SSDs in a 4U form factor, and achieves greater than 3 million IOPS. "As an industry leader in providing many core solutions for data center acceleration, we are proud to be demonstrating how our KONIC40 enables NVMe-oF storage systems to exploit the full performance of flash memory," said Eric Baissus, CEO of Kalray. "This demonstration is one further step toward the matured NVMe-oF technology deployment environment paired with SK Hynix JBF all flash array of high performance NVMe SSDs. Active collaboration with Kalray enabled to achieve low latency of NVMe-oF technology on top of low latency, high performance NVMe SSDs," said Vice President SooHwan Choi, Head of NAND Product Planning Office at SK Hynix. Kalray has developed a family of high-performance storage acceleration solutions, based on its unique MPPA®2-256 high-speed I/O processor. These MPPA®-based solutions fully offload the NVMe-oF traffic, eliminating CPU and DDR bottlenecks. Additionally, logical volume management (LVM), encryption, compression, deduplication, erasure coding, and other functions, can be performed in-line. About Kalray About SK Hynix Press Contact
